My primary research goal is to identify biological markers (particularly electrophysiological ones) of cognitive functions that are specifically impaired in various psychiatric disorders (depression, anxiety, addiction, schizophrenia) that could contribute to improved management of these mental illnesses, complementing conventional psychotherapeutic and pharmacological treatments.
My main research topic:
To investigate, using brain imaging techniques (evoked potentials, functional magnetic resonance imaging), the cognitive deficits observed in many psychiatric populations, such as those with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and various forms of addiction.
Currently, my research focuses on three main areas:
1. to study the effect of binge drinking on the brains of young people;
2. to attempt to define neurophysiological procedures that are easily applicable in a clinical setting and likely to improve the cognitive management of psychiatric patients;
3. Combine simultaneous electroencephalogram and functional magnetic resonance imaging recordings to identify the anatomical and temporal network associated with the course of a specific cognitive task.

What my research covers:
My research topics among individuals with behavioral addictions (e.g., pathological gambling) and substance use disorders (e.g., alcohol dependence) are as follows:
– Study of motivational systems: approach and avoidance tendencies, attentional biases, and memory biases
– Study of self-regulation resources (inhibition, flexibility, updating, etc.)
– Study of the components of decision-making under uncertainty (risk management, intuition, etc.)
– How can we restore self-control over addictive behaviors? A study of cognitive remediation strategies
– Study of social cognition (emotional processing, theory of mind, etc.)
– Computational approach to decision-making: the exploitation-exploration dilemma; model-based versus model-free approaches
– A Study of Dissociative States in Relation to Decision-Making Among Individuals with Addictive Behaviors
– Multivariate modeling (cognitive processing, thoughts, expectations, past and current relationships with others, life events, etc.) of addictive behaviors
– Goal-oriented systems and habits: How relevant are they to addictive behaviors?
